swlabr

After early experiments with traditional instruments , purchased a used Roland 707 & began an association with electronic music. Hooking up with an old school chum, who he persuaded to purchase a well used Roland JX-8P, they decided to pool in & buy a 4-Track. Influenced to a varying degree by a mixed bag of Electronic , Rock & avant-garde artists, they proceeded to familiarize themselves with their new equipment & indulge in some rampant experimentation. Early examples of these sessions showed a leaning towards Dance influenced grooves keeping in spirit with the then burgeoning House / Acid / dance revolution. This combination soon wore thin & SwlabR was getting interested in other bits of gear like sequencers & samplers after discovering those discreet looking 5-pin din sockets on the rear panel of both the 707 & JX-8P...

Around about this time he came into contact with Nadnerb (Brendan Palmer). Anyway, Nadnerb was an aspiring promoter & D.J. Interest in a recording by SwlabR that he had received through a friend led to a meeting & subsequent mutual appreciation. Nadnerb began collecting vintage Analogue equipment & hooking up with various kindred spirits. This eventually led to a rather rich grouping of electronic sound talent, thus Clan Analogue was born. SwlabR features on Clan's first E.P release CA001 with a moody instrumental entitled Organic.

Since then, SwlabR has produced very little output (recording wise) , preferring to concentrate on live percussion work. Watch this space for new tracks currently in progress.
